Rachel and Ian’s October wedding was one of my absolute favorites of all time. All day I kept staring at the back of my camera in AWE of how beautiful the scenes I got to photograph were! Even better, the people were what really made this day special. Rachel and Ian’s crew were full of life, kindness, and so much excitement – it was a gift to spend the day with them. The atmosphere of love was evident, and it was a blessing to celebrate the newlywed Helphenstines.
We started the day off at Rachel’s family home in Towson, and not to spoil it for you, but the details were STUNNING.
Meanwhile, the guys prepared for the big day just down the road over at the infamous White House.
Rachel read the sweetest letter from Ian, and then it was time for the big bridesmaids dress reveal!
Rachel had kept her wedding dress a secret her whole engagement! This was the first time any of the bridesmaids got to see it, and their reactions couldn’t have been better.
Then it was time for the wedding party to travel over to the chapel!
The quiet moments before the ceremony are always one of my favorite parts of every wedding day.
First look with the father of the bride…
Rachel and Ian took a few minutes to pray together without seeing one another before the ceremony and it was such a sweet and private moment.
Then it was time for the long-awaited moment…
The bridal party headed over to Hampton National Historic Site for the best bridal party photos I’ve ever been a part of! It was SO MUCH FUN.
Then the actual best part of the day…
We headed back to the White House for the best backyard wedding I’ve ever been to!
This was such a special day, and looking back through the gallery to put this blog post together just reminded me of how lucky I am to get to do what I do. Rachel and Ian, THANK YOU for letting me capture your special day.
